Imagine Theatre and Swansea Grand announce that the 2024/2025 panto offering will be the giant pantomime adventure Jack & the Beanstalk from 07 December 2024 – 05 January 2025. The show will star Swansea panto favourites Kev Johns and Matt Edwards, who return to the theatre for another season by popular demand, with further star casting to be announced. Jack & the Beanstalk will also feature another incredible digital set, which will be brand-new for 2024.

Kev Johns, who is currently appearing in this year’s panto Cinderella as Dame Penny Pockets said of his return; “I am absolutely thrilled to be returning to the Swansea Grand again in 2024/2025 to appear in Jack & the Beanstalk. I love panto and I love Swansea, so there’s no place I’d rather be at Christmas.”

Matt Edwards, currently appearing as Buttons said; “I’m super surprised to be asked so early to come back next year, it’s made me really look forward to it even more.  I can’t quite tell you what part I will be playing but I can say that I’ve seen parts of the script already and it’s going to be amazing, so make sure you all come and see it.”

Swansea Grand Theatre manager, Grant McFarlane commented; “Our digital pantos have been a big hit and Jack and the Beanstalk is going to have a brand new, never seen before, digital set. We are really excited about this and of course, there will be all the usual panto trademarks that Swansea audiences have come to know and love.”

Jack & the Beanstalk will be the third consecutive pantomime that pantomime producer Imagine Theatre has presented at the Grand Theatre, following the major success of the award-winning Beauty & the Beast and Cinderella. Both pantomimes were hugely popular with audiences and achieved 5-star reviews.

Steve Boden, one of the Co-Chief Executives for Imagine Theatre said; “We are so delighted to welcome Kev and Matt back and are really excited to be producing a spectacular brand-new production of Jack & the Beanstalk at the Grand theatre following the success of our productions: the 5-star, award-winning pantomimes Beauty & the Beast and Cinderella. As always, audiences can expect to see a spectacular production, full of comedy and all of the well-loved pantomime traditions that create a really magical trip to the theatre at Christmas.”

The Trotts are so poor they don’t have a bean to their name and what’s more, there’s an evil and greedy giant terrifying the village. Will they really have to sell Buttercup, the family cow, just to survive?

Can Jack defeat the giant, win the heart of the girl he loves and turn the Trotts’ fortunes around? Once again, the Swansea Grand will have all the ingredients for a perfect family panto: with a dastardly villain, a hapless comic and a hilarious panto dame, as well as fabulous musical numbers and bags of slapstick fun!

Tickets are already selling fast for this epic pantomime adventure. Book your tickets your tickets early for this ‘moo-vellous’ family friendly panto which will leave everyone aged 4 to 104 feeling full of beans!
