A consultation on the potential transfer of residential care services from Tregerddan Residential Care Home to Hafan y Waun Care Home is currently underway, following Cabinet approval on 19 March 2024.

The aim of the consultation is to explore the views of residents and their families, staff, and the wider community on the future of Tregerddan Care Home in Bow Street, and the opportunity to transfer the care provision to Hafan y Waun Care Home in Aberystwyth.

Following the Council’s decision to take ownership of Hafan y Waun Residential Care Home in late 2023, there is an opportunity to restructure the residential care provision in the north of the county for the benefit of our current and future residents.

Paper copies of the consultation can be accessed at the following locations:

    • Aberystwyth Library (Canolfan Alun R. Edwards, Queen’s Square, Aberystwyth SY23 2EB)
    • Lampeter Wellbeing Centre
    • Lampeter Library
    • Aberaeron Library
    • Cardigan Library
    • Llandysul Library
    • New Quay Library

The consultation started on 22 April and will end on 15 July 2024.

A Council representative said: “The Council recognise the commitment and quality of the care staff at Cartref Tregerddan and further acknowledge the wealth of support provided by the Friends of Tregerddan organisation. We sincerely hope that this collaboration will be retained as part of the plans going forward. Residents’ wellbeing is especially important and so we encourage those who want to have their say, to share their views in good time before the closing date.”

The Council invites people to submit their views on delivering the plan. To complete the online consultation, visit our website: https://forms.office.com/e/gWq4TeWYuu
