With just weeks to go until the foodie favourite that is the Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival takes place across the Spring Bank Holiday weekend (26-27th May), there’ll be a real treat in store at the next Mayor’s Coffee Morning in Cowbridge (Sat May 4th) as the festival drops in with a taster of lots of the tempting treats to come.

All are welcome to the free event – a real celebration of all things ‘festival’ – which will be hosted as usual at the Town Hall from 10-12pm.

Samples galore from some fabulous exhibitors – chutneys, jams, sweet treats, Welsh cakes, bara brith, sparkling non-alcoholic drinks alongside a selection of beers and ciders and even Jamaican Patties!

As well as having the taste buds tempted through the morning, adding to the entertainment guests will enjoy talks from three festival favourites; Cowbridge’s own Noble Grape (10.15am) Bang on Brewery (10.45am) and Mallows Distillery (11.15am).

To top it off, there’ll be the chance to win some fabulous prizes kindly donated by festival sponsor, the award-winning Hensol Castle Distillery and brand new exhibitor Grounds for Good, as well as weekend passes up for grabs.

Speaking ahead of the event, Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival manager Tracy James-Lieberman said:

“We’ve not done anything like this before and we’re so excited to be a part of the next Mayor’s Coffee Morning; it’s shaping up to be a mini little festival in its own right!

“It’ll be great to give guests a taste of what’s to come this year – we’ve got lots of old favourites coming but plenty of exciting new additions across all four sites so there really will be something for everyone.

“We’re very grateful to the Mayor for letting us arrange this – it’s going to be a really fun morning and we’d love to have as many people as possible come down and join us!”

Mayor of Cowbridge, Councillor Malcolm Wilson added:

“This is my last coffee morning, which is in support of my charity Llamau, preventing homelessness in young people.   At this coffee morning I am delighted to take the opportunity to launch the 2024 Food Festival and get this prestigious Cowbridge event off to a flying start.  Please come along to the Town Hall and taste the samples and get a preview of some of the food and drink that will at the food festival at the end of May”.

Tickets for the Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival will be available to purchase at the event.
