Runners who are looking to take part in the stunning Ogi Porthcawl 10K need to be quick to secure their spot, as entries are near to selling out.

This year’s Ogi Porthcawl 10K, on Sunday 7 July, is close to reaching capacity with only a handful of general entries left to snap up before registration closes completely on 18 June (or earlier if sold out).

The popular race showcases the very best in the picturesque seaside town. Starting outside the historical Porthcawl Pavilion on the Promenade the road race provides panoramic views across Newton Bay, Trecco Bay and Sandy Bay before runners race through Trecco Bay Holiday Park and Coney Beach Pleasure Park.

They then journey through the heart of the town before catching a view of Rest Bay and the famous Porthcawl Lighthouse.

The course has been devised by Steve Brace, Race Director at Run 4 Wales and double Olympic marathoner.

Steve said: “The Ogi Porthcawl 10K is a superb event with a fantastic and friendly atmosphere in a much-loved seaside town that is well known for its surf, sports and coastal walks.

“The area is a summertime hotspot and this is a popular event in the race calendar, but with it nearing capacity, we’re urging runners to secure their space now to avoid disappointment.”

The Ogi Porthcawl 10K is part of the Run 4 Wales 10K series. This included the ABP Newport 10K and Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay 10K earlier in the year, as well as the CDF 10K taking place on Sunday 1 September.

Finishers will receive a race t-shirt as well as an interlocking medal which forms part of the 10K series collection.

    General entry costs £28.
