A man from Swansea has been jailed after being involved in the supply of Class A drugs.

26-year-old Jay Hume, from West Cross, was identified after his phone number was identified in communications with another individual arrested for drug offences in June.

Examination of Hume’s mobile phone showed a large number of messages regarding payment for the cocaine that Hume was supplying.

He has been sentenced to six years in prison at Swansea Crown Court for being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

    Detective Sergeant Thomas Richardson said:

“Jay Hume was a key player in the supply of cocaine onto the streets of Swansea and now has been rightfully jailed for a number of years, reducing his ability to pose a danger to the public.

“From analysing messages on Jay Hume’s mobile phone, it was clear that he and his associates had planned to expand their operation later this year through recruitment of further dealers.”

“This sentencing shows that drug crime does not pay – you will be identified, arrested, and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”
