Adrian Shellam, 49, from Cardiff, stole wine and other alcohol from Co-op stores across Cardiff.

On May 29, 2025, he was issued with a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court to prevent crime and protect shop workers.

As part of the order, he was banned from entering the Co-Op at Capital Quarter, Tyndall Street.

But he breached the order within three days.

On June 2, Shellam pleaded guilty at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court to assaulting a shop worker at Co-op Tyndall Street and six counts of theft from this store, Co-op Park Place and Co-op Senghennydd Road

He was jailed for 24 weeks.

PCSO Samuel Martin, from the Cardiff Bay Neighbourhood Team, said:

“We work closely with retailers and businesses to protect them from crime and anti-social committed by individuals like Adrian Shellam.
“Shoplifting can have a devastating impact on shopworkers and retailers.
“This case demonstrates our commitment to tackling retail theft and supporting the industry.”
