Following the success of last year’s event, The award winning Druid Inn in Gorsedd, Flintshire has announced the return of its popular Beer Festival, which will take place from Thursday 28th to Sunday 31st August 2025. For this year’s event the pub team have added an extra day to the festivities – giving punters even more opportunity to celebrate the end of the summer holidays.

Festival opening times are from 5pm until late on Thursday 28th, and from 12pm until late on Friday 29th, Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st. The event is free to attend, and guests will also have the chance to purchase their very own Druid Inn branded pint glass as a keepsake.

This year, the festival will feature over 15 carefully selected real ales, sourced both locally and from across the UK. There will also be 10 fantastic ciders to try, offering a wide range of flavours for all tastes. While much of the ale and cider line-up remains a closely guarded secret for now, The Druid is excited to reveal the exclusive debut of a brand-new brew from Treboom, a brewery based in nearby Bagillt.

To accompany the drinks, festivalgoers can enjoy freshly prepared food from The Druid’s talented chefs, all cooked on the outdoor BBQ. The menu includes a lamb and mint burger with tzatziki, a BBQ pulled pork bap, spiced halloumi skewers with fennel and peppers, and a comforting portion of macaroni cheese topped with crispy onions and a parmesan crumb.

Live music will run from Friday through to Sunday, featuring a diverse range of local artists and bands. Among the performers are Bourbon Boots, a folk and country band from Holywell, Audio Drones, and Chester-based Small Horse & The Plan. The full music line-up will be available on the pub’s website.

Reflecting on the success of last year’s festival, Druid Inn Landlord Ray Faulder-Jones explained, “After the success of our Real Ale and Cider Festival in 2024, there was no doubt we were going to hold one again this year!”

“I can’t wait for this year’s festival. It’s a lot of fun and an opportunity to meet really interesting people and sample some fantastic ales and ciders. The one big change this year is that our festival will run Thursday to Sunday, so there’s a whole extra day to help you get through the many ales and cider on offer.”

“There has been a real resurgence for real ale over recent years which I think is fantastic. We’ve got some amazing brewers both locally and nationally and we love supporting this skilled industry. We’re keeping the majority of our ale and cider line-up under wraps (literally) for know, but we can’t wait to feature the brand new brew Dragon’s Tale, a 4.5% hoppy pale ale, from Treboom Brewery. Some of the old faithfuls with be available too, like Titanic, Magic Dragon, and Facers.”

The 2024 festival was widely praised by the local community. One visitor commented, “In all my 25 plus years of living here, I’ve never seen anything like it – it was amazing to have something like this on our doorstep.”
