FleetEV, a leading electric vehicle (EV) provider, has proudly sponsored the National League for another season, which wrapped up with an exhilarating finals weekend earlier this month.
Owned by Wales Netball, the FleetEV National League comprises eight teams from across Wales who compete in tournaments throughout the year, bringing together seasoned netballers aged 17 to 45 in a competitive arena. Each team includes 18 players or training partners and three management staff, many of whom balance their commitment to netball alongside full-time jobs, studies and everyday responsibilities.
This season’s success reflects the growing momentum behind women’s sport in Wales. Across three match weekends, the league welcomed a total of 772 spectators, with 160 in Bangor, 268 in Swansea and 344 attending the finals in Cardiff. Online engagement was equally strong, with an average of 8,800 streams for Bangor, 8,200 for Swansea, and 12,400 tuning in for the final weekend of competition.
The courts were alive with thrilling moments and standout performances. Powys Sparks finished on a high, securing their first ever five point win in the final game, placing seventh overall. Earlier in the season, Valleys Volcanoes defeated reigning champions North East Infernos, but the Infernos rallied to reclaim their title in an exciting showdown.
Jarrad Morris, CEO and Founder of FleetEV, said: “We’re incredibly proud to support the FleetEV National League again this year, and the outstanding women who compete while balancing so much off the court. This league not only showcases the players’ impressive talent and determination but also highlights the growing enthusiasm for women’s sport across Wales.
“At FleetEV, our commitment to social value goes beyond providing sustainable transport, it’s about empowering communities and supporting initiatives that bring people together to inspire positive change. We’d like to congratulate all teams on a fantastic season and look forward to supporting the league’s continued growth.”
Sarah Boswell, CEO of Wales Netball, added: “This season’s success would not have been possible without FleetEV’s backing. Their partnership has helped us build a strong, competitive league and has played a key role in raising the profile of women’s sport across Wales, which is fantastic to see.”
