Venues across the city are getting set to host a brilliant free weekend of culture, headlined by two of Wales’ most influential creative voices.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, Swansea Council is bringing back Swansea Arts Weekend on October 11 and 12, a vibrant two-day celebration which brings internationally renowned artists, performers and creatives to the city.
Among the highlights this time is an intimate 90-minute performance with acclaimed Welsh actor and star of Good Omens, Michael Sheen, and folk singer-songwriter Martyn Joseph.
As well as that, there will be an exclusive ‘In Conversation’ event with celebrated writer and producer of ‘Doctor Who’ and ‘It’s a Sin’ Russell T Davies OBE.

All the other events at the festival weekend will also be completely free to attend, with thought provoking exhibitions to explore and engaging bookable workshops available for both children and adults – there is something for everyone.
Adding to the incredible line up is, reggae sensation Aleighcia Scott, who will take to the Music Stage, and internationally acclaimed artist Luke Jerram, whose large-scale installation Helios, will be a standout spectacle.
The festival also shines a spotlight on international talent, including German artist Doris Graf, Nigerian-born Igbo dancer Ifemelumma Nweri, and New Media artists Limbic Cinema.

“We’re delighted to have the support of two of our biggest local names, Russell T Davies and Michael Sheen, for this year’s festival.
“Not only is Swansea rich in talent, but we are also home to a collection of vibrant cultural venues including galleries, event spaces, theatres and outdoor venues which will exhibit exciting works and host performances.
“Swansea Arts Weekend is more than just an arts festival it celebrates our diverse talent and creativity that makes our city unique.”
