Acorn by Synergie has joined forces with Women’s Aid Wales and Vale Domestic Abuse Support to deliver free online employability workshops designed to help women rebuild their confidence and take the next step back into work.
The sessions provide practical advice on creating a CV that stands out to employers, preparing for interviews and building the confidence needed to re-enter the job market.
The initiative has been driven by members of Acorn by Synergie’s team who are passionate about supporting people into employment, including Carly Jones, who leads on social enterprise within her sector and spearheaded the programme.
She has been supported by Emily Meredith, Head of HR, Danielle Haynes, Head of Marketing, and Adele Williams, who plays an active role in the company’s charity work.
The interactive workshops have already helped women gain valuable skills and confidence, with participants able to ask questions, receive tailored advice and better understand what employers are looking for throughout the recruitment process.
Carly Jones said: “These sessions have been incredibly rewarding and it’s been fantastic to see the difference they are already making. Many of the women we have worked with simply needed someone to help rebuild their confidence and show them that they have valuable skills to offer employers.
“We’ve been able to provide practical advice on writing strong CVs, preparing for interviews and navigating the job market, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. One participant described the session as “really useful”, explaining that it had given her the confidence to improve her CV. She is now applying for roles through Acorn by Synergie.
“This just shows just how effective these workshops can be in helping women take that first step back into employment.”
