Police are investigating an assault involving a father and son in St Mellons after they were attacked by a large group of teenagers on Wednesday evening.
Officers from South Wales Police said the incident happened at around 7pm on May 6 in Cathcob Fields behind Tesco in St Mellons.
A 60 year old man and his 28 year old son were assaulted by the group, with witnesses describing some of those involved as wearing balaclavas and riding e-bikes.
Both victims were taken to the University Hospital of Wales for treatment. Police confirmed that fortunately neither suffered serious injuries.
South Wales Police said additional patrols will be carried out in the area while enquiries continue.
In a statement, the force said: “Violence and this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated.”
Officers are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about those responsible to come forward.
