A day filled with vibrant performances, authentic Indian cuisine, wellbeing workshops, colourful market stalls and hands-on cultural experiences awaits visitors at the Swansea Indian Mela 2026.
Taking place on Saturday June 6 from 10am to 6pm at the city’s Brangwyn Hall, the event will immerse attendees in the sights, sounds and flavours of India.
This will include live dance and stage performances, food stalls, jewellery and craft vendors, Indian clothing, interactive workshops and henna artistry.
The family-friendly event promises a full day of colour, culture and community spirit, bringing together people from across South West Wales to experience the richness and diversity of Indian heritage.
Mrs Sindhu Mahadeven, a trustee with the Indian Society of South West Wales, said: “The Mela is more than just a celebration – it’s a bridge between cultures.
“We are proud to support local business through a variety of stalls that promote small vendors and to create a welcoming space where people of all backgrounds can come together, learn and celebrate the beauty of Indian culture while strengthening community connections here in South West Wales.”
Established in 1983, the Indian Society of South West Wales has long been dedicated to sharing and integrating the diverse culture of India with the wider local community.
Through its work, the society reflects the evolving multicultural landscape of the region, promoting values of tolerance, respect and strong community bonds.
Its mission is to share India’s rich cultural traditions alongside other minority ethnic groups and the wider public.
Tickets for the Swansea Indian Mela 2026 are priced at £4 for adults, with free entry for children under five.
