Works will be taking place in and around the Landore park and ride site over the coming weeks.
The existing bus station building will be taken down and there will be some minor changes to the junction layout.
In the meantime, the Landore site will continue to operate as a park and ride facility until further notice.
These works are necessary to prepare for the construction of the Skyline development’s base station at Hafod Morfa Copperworks.
Access to the Landore park and ride site, as well as to the Penderyn Distillery, will remain unaffected although there will be a reduction in the number of parking spaces available while the works are ongoing.
The site will still contain more than enough provision for estimated usage.
The bus stop currently located outside the site will be relocated nearby on Loverose Way.
The Skyline development is scheduled to open in 2028. When it does, the current Landore park and ride site will be repurposed as a car park for Skyline and Penderyn visitors.
As a result, the council is developing proposals for a replacement car park on the river side of the site, which will serve park and ride users.
The long-term use of this new car park as a park and ride facility is still being explored.
