Cardiff Bus is offering advance travel advice to rugby fans and customers heading into the city for Wales’s Six Nations’ match this weekend.

The bus operator is alerting customers to route diversions and bus stop changes being put in place across the city ahead of Wales vs England at the Principality Stadium from 1.15pm pm to 8pm this Saturday.

Bus stop changes will see the Baycar (service 6) starting from Customhouse Street and it will not serve the rear of Central Station or the city centre/Cathays Park loop during the road closure.

The 8, 9, and 9A to Cardiff Bay and the Sports Village; the 13 to the Sports Village, the 54 to Channel

View, and the X45 to Cardiff Bay Asda will all start from Hayes Bridge Road.

    Services 8, 9 and 9A to Heath Hospital; 44, 45 and X45 to St Mellons; 49, 50, 51, 52, 57, 58, and 61 to Pengam Green will start from Churchill Way. While the 13 to Drope; 15, 17, 18, 25, 61 to Pentrebane; 63, 64, 65, 66, 95 to Barry, and the 95A, 95B, 96, 96A, X91 will begin at Tudor Street.

The 21, 23, 24, 27, 28, 28A, 28B, 30, 35, 53, 54 to Cyncoed; and the 86 and 95 to Heath Hospital will all start from Greyfriars Road. Finally, services 92, 93, and 94 will start at Customhouse Street from the start of the closure until 7pm, and then from Tudor Street after 7pm until the end of the closure.

Lower St Mary Street will remain closed after 8pm, so buses will start to follow their Saturday night diversion in and out of the city centre earlier at 8pm instead of 10pm.

The X59 (Park & Ride East at Pentwyn) will also start and end on Dumfries Place all day on Saturday.

Cardiff Bus commercial manager Gareth Stevens said: “The Six Nations are an exciting sporting occasion which bring thousands of fans into Cardiff.

“As ever we are reminding our customers of service route diversions and bus stop alterations which will come into effect throughout the tournament and could impact their journey.

“As such we would urge all those travelling into the city centre on these dates, either for the games or not, to plan ahead and check all the travel information before their journeys.

“We hope everyone travelling into Cardiff enjoys the Six Nations. For all the details on our services visit our website and social media channels @CardiffBus for further information, or to call our customer service helpline on 02920 666 444.”
