Simply Gym, located within The Red Dragon Centre in Cardiff Bay, is celebrating one year since opening with a free open event on National Fitness Day (25 SEPT).

The state-of-the-art gym is inviting new and existing users to come along to the centre and train or try out one of the many fitness classes on offer.

Simply Gym, run by Swansea-based Bay Leisure, opened the 20,000ft² fitness facility last September following a £1million investment. As a not-for-profit company, the gym has already been able to reinvest throughout the initial 12 months, introducing quadruple the number of classes, a boxing room and more gym equipment. Employing around 20 members of staff, the gym now offers more than 80 classes per week as a direct result of its ever-growing membership.

Simply Gym Cardiff Bay General Manager, Lee Johnson, said: “We have achieved so much in one year; creating a popular gym with a great buzz that appeals to the community, local offices, students, and commuters alike. Being part of The Red Dragon Centre is great because we work closely with the other businesses within the facility.

“We pride ourselves on our members and helping them achieve their goals. On joining, every member gets a personalised plan, no matter what their ability. We have so many members who have been with us from day one and achieving brilliant things.”

Emma Constantinou, Marketing Manager for The Red Dragon Centre said: “Simply Gym has fitted into the Centre so well and is a great hub for customers, staff and the local community to come together. The range of classes on offer is extensive and the timetables mean you can go before work, in the evening or even pop over in your lunchbreak. We hope people come along on National Fitness Day to see for themselves what a fantastic facility the gym is.”

Simply Gym has six gyms across Wales and England – two in Swansea, one in Cwmbran, one in Southend-on-Sea and one in Uxbridge. Membership starts from just £4.50 a week.

To enjoy the facilities for free on 25 September, simply visit www.simplygym.net/our-gyms/cardiff-bay and enter the code FIT19 which will entitle users to a complimentary 24 hour pass.
