Cardiff-based digital marketing agency, Liberty Marketing, is shortlisted as one of the best companies to work for in the UK at the Employee Experience Awards 2020.

This Welsh SME with a headcount of 35 is a finalist in three categories; ‘Best Company to Work For’, ‘Employee Engagement’ and ‘Best HR Professional’, alongside multinational companies shortlisted like Hitachi and McLaren.

The finalists have been invited to present their initiatives on the 14th of May ahead of the award ceremony in London.

Following a record-breaking year of growth, Liberty identifies its success mostly down to its employees, and their new approach to employee engagement has been key to upscaling. According to Forbes, highly engaged teams show 21% greater profitability, and it’s reflected in Liberty’s unprecedented growth and increase in turnover.

Liberty Marketing introduced ‘Flexible Responsibility Groups’ to tackle progression and a mental health initiative to protect their employee’s wellbeing amongst other things to re-engage and motivate their people.

The initiatives have seen incredible success company-wide, encouraging progression and development, while also attracting and servicing a higher grade of clients including DS Smith, Penguin Publishing and Aviva.

Liberty was proud to share that all employees received a pay increase in 2019 and almost 30% of the company were promoted internally.

Gareth Morgan, Managing Director of Liberty Marketing, says:

“Employee engagement is hugely important and ensuring that our staff are happy and well looked after is my number one priority.”

“We are a business that trades off the knowledge, abilities, and creativity of a group of marketers and making sure they are happy is vital in order to perform well as an agency. That’s why at Liberty, we introduced a number of company initiatives to increase the happiness and morale of all employees.”

Emily Benwell, Marketing Coordinator at Liberty added:

“The company culture at Liberty is second-to-none. It’s a fun, supportive and creative environment that works to bring out the best in people.

“From mental health initiatives to flexible working, personal development and just generally feeling valued at Liberty, I have noticed that I am more motivated, determined and bursting with ideas to add value. Liberty really is the best company to work for.”
