Bus and rail operators across Wales have introduced a reduced timetable beginning this week.

These changes have come into effect following the Government’s latest briefing surrounding non-essential travel and will be in place until further notice. Operators have cited safety and wellbeing concerns of travellers, as well as seeing a reduction in demand for services.

These are the timetable changes where you are…

    Transport for Wales

    Transport for Wales

Transport for Wales will reduce its weekday service to balance a reduction in demand, availability of its workforce and the need to support key workers. Full details of the changes will be available to view in rail planning systems.

However, free rail travel has been offered NHS workers on TfW services from Monday 23rd March 2020.

The operator will be running Saturday timetables across the majority of services on weekdays from Monday, March 23, with weekend services following their regular timetables.

    NAT Group

    NAT Group

NAT has adjusted timetables to match current demand and to ensure they can deliver their services. All changes will be effective Saturday 28th March 2020 and will be in place until further notice. A number of routes will continue to operate as normal, with others being reduced all cancelled altogether.

    First Cymru

    First Cymru 25 bus

First Cymru has announced the following service changes for the working week from Monday 23 March to ensure it sustains services for those needing to travel across the region.

From Monday 23 March, for one week only:
    • Swansea services will switch to a Saturday timetable during weekdays. This does not apply to Services 15 and 30 which will continue to operate their normal Mondays to Fridays timetable
    • Swansea (University) Services 10 and 9 will be suspended until further notice
    • All other depots (Port Talbot, Bridgend, Maesteg, Ammanford, Llanelli, Carmarthen and Haverfordwest) will operate a school holiday service
The changes are temporary, for one week only, as the operator prepares a roll-out of service changes across its network which will come into effect on Sunday 29 March.

    National Express

National Express is advising passengers to check online before they travel as it introduces an extensive reduction to its timetable with effect from 00:01 Tuesday 24 March 2020.

The coach operator will be temporarily running limited services across its scheduled national network in response to the impact of Coronavirus (Covid-19).
