The end is in sight for the 2020 Six Nations after the announcement of the rescheduled fixtures in the 2020 Guinness Six Nations Championship.
Following lengthy delays due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, rugby betting tips are back as the 2020 Six Nations will continue with the Wales vs Scotland game now taking place on October 31st. All round 4 and 5 games will be played within a 7-day window, starting out on October 24 with the final round 4 match between Ireland and Italy at Aviva Stadium.
Wales will be taking on Scotland at 2:15 in the first game of a triple-header of round 5 games, followed by Italy vs England at Stadio Olimpico and France vs Ireland at Stade de France. The venue for the Wales vs Scotland game has yet to be announced by Six Nations.
Along with the men’s tournament restarting, the women’s Six Nations will continue on, starting October 24th for 3 weekends. The U20 Six Nations tournament has been cancelled with no winner crowned due to scheduling restraints that have arisen. The approval to restart the tournament followed the news that World Rugby had granted approval for a new temporary international window so the Six Nations could be completed.
Wales will be looking to get their second win of the tournament in their final Six Nations game against a Scottish side that is pushing for 2nd place. Despite a disappointing Six Nations campaign, the news of Welsh international rugby returning is nothing but a positive for fans who have been waiting since March for this game to be played.
While it should be a home game for Wales, there is no chance of it being played on their usual home turf due to the Principality Stadium being used as a temporary hospital during the pandemic. The stadium will continue to operate as a temporary hospital as a precaution to a second wave of the virus, ruling it out for the last Wales Six Nations game of 2020. It is expected to be back in action for rugby in 2021 when Welsh Six Nations games will return to their usual home.
Fans who had purchased tickets for the original March fixture have been offered a credit to purchase new tickets at a later date, a full refund, or the option to donate their ticket value to Welsh rugby. Those who choose to receive the credit or donate their ticket will be offered priority booking on future tickets to Welsh games.
Commenting on the tournament restart, Six Nations CEO Ben Morel said, “We are absolutely thrilled to make this announcement today. Whilst the past few months have been extremely challenging, we have always remained hopeful of concluding this year’s tournament and we are really looking forward to the final games in the Men’s and Women’s Championships. There is still so much to play for, and we are hugely excited for what lies ahead.”
