Welsh Government has announced a range of new measures which come into force within Caerphilly County Borough from 6pm yesterday evening, Tuesday 8th September.
The measures are in response to the alarming increase in the number of new cases of the virus in an effort to contain the spread.
The measures include;
- People will not be allowed to enter or leave the Caerphilly County Borough Council area without a reasonable excuse;
- Everyone over 11 will be required to wear face coverings in indoor areas;
- People will only be able to meet outdoors – meetings with other people indoors and extended households will not be allowed for the time being. No overnight stays will be allowed.
The new restrictions will apply to everyone living within the Caerphilly County Borough Council area.
Cllr Philippa Marsden, Leader of Council, said “The behaviour of local people over the coming days will be instrumental in helping to limit the impact of coronavirus. We all have our part to play in bringing this outbreak under control and I urge everyone to follow the new measures put in place within the county borough. By working together we can help break the cycle of infection and protect our loved ones from this deadly infection.”
