Residents across Rhondda Cynon Taf are being invited to enjoy a full day of free family fun as Aberdare Festival returns later this spring.

The popular event will take place at Aberdare Park on Saturday 23 May, running from 11am to 5pm, with no booking required.

A firm favourite in the local events calendar, the festival promises a packed programme of entertainment for all ages, bringing together live performances, activities and attractions across the park’s scenic grounds.

Visitors can expect a wide range of family-friendly entertainment, including a bilingual puppet show, fun fair rides, balloon modelling and the return of the ever-popular land train. There will also be performances from local groups Streetwise and Kinetic School of Performing Arts, alongside a variety of craft, food and information stalls. Organisers are encouraging attendees to bring a picnic blanket and make a full day of it.

The festival’s main stage will once again host a lively line-up of live music, featuring tribute acts celebrating some of the world’s biggest artists. This year’s bill includes performances inspired by Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Harry Styles and K-pop favourites.

Welsh TV personality and education favourite Martyn Geraint will open the live stage with a high-energy bilingual puppet show, before taking on hosting duties throughout the day.

With free entry and a wide range of entertainment on offer, organisers say Aberdare Festival is set to be another standout event for the community and visitors alike.
