Registered voters will be offered a unique opportunity to cast their vote for the May elections in an early Voting Centre in Penallta House Council Offices, Ystrad Mynach.

The weekend before the election, on Saturday 30th April and Sunday 1st May, the council HQ will be transformed into a large polling station between the hours of 10am and 4pm.

Caerphilly is one of four local authorities in Wales taking part in a Welsh Government pilot to give voters more flexibility on how and when they vote.

    How to vote

    • Bring your polling card if you have it (don’t worry if not)
    • You will be directed to collect your voting card
    • Simply vote and you’re done!

The Chief Executive of Caerphilly County Borough Council, and Returning Officer for the Election, Christina Harrhy said, “We are a forward thinking authority and we are always keen to be a part of something new and innovative.

We hope that by offering the early voting centre we are able to offer a degree of flexibility to residents who are keen to be a part of the democratic process.

We are also excited to once again see our next generation of voters who have just turned 16 use their vote for the first time in a local election.

We hope to continue to be a part of the change in processes and modernising the voting process for the future.”
