Want to set yourself an amazing and memorable challenge in 2022? Also want to give back to those in need living in our local community at the same time? Look no further, local charity Age Connects Cardiff and the Vale, are offering the rare opportunity to experience abseiling down one of Cardiff’s most iconic buildings – the St David’s Hotel. Spaces are limited so the charity is urging brave challengers to sign up today and not miss out.

The event will be led by Dave Talbot Adventure Events and supported by the great community spirit from the team at the St David’s Hotel.

Commenting on the event and also taking part, Karen Fletcher, Marketing and Partnerships Manager at Age Connects explained why she is so excited and apprehensive about the challenge “The St David’s Hotel is such a wonderful landmark of Cardiff Bay. When the opportunity arose to descend 131ft down the hotel via abseil, I felt it was too fantastic an experience to be missed! Not only will this be a proud and cherished memory for all involved, we will also be helping to support vulnerable and isolated older people in need living within our communities.”

The challenge will take place on Sunday 21st August 2022. Spaces are limited and will be taken on a first come first served basis. Sponsorship to help support the charity’s work with local older people is encouraged. Terms and conditions apply and all equipment will be provided.

Age Connects will be sending all participants a welcome pack full of fundraising guidance, tips and information and a branded T-shirt to wear on the day and keep as a memento!

All details and a registration link to sign up can be found on the Age Connects website.
