South Wales Police is appealing for information following a sexual assault which happened in Barry, at around 3.30am on Sunday, April 21.

A woman, aged in her 30s, was walking along a path in the area known locally as Chicken Wood Park when she was assaulted by a man.

The suspect is described as a white man in his late 20s to early 30s, around 6ft7, of large muscular build, short hair possibly brown in colour, and having a beard and a goatee.

The man is described as having a West Country accent, a scar going across his left cheek underneath his left eye, and had a tattoo on his left thumb. He was wearing a grey Duffer hoodie which had a pattern across the chest and black jeans.

Detectives are scouring CCTV, items are being forensically examined and house to house enquiries are on-going.
Detective Inspector Emma Hampton said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have seen this man before or after the incident to please come forward. Enquiries are ongoing and the woman is being supported by specially trained officers.”

Witnesses or anyone who may have information are asked to please contact South Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111, quoting occurrence number 1900144537.
