A young mum who suffered post-natal depression has won an award after starting a Welsh language support group to help others going through the mill. Ffion Wyn Evans, a mental health nurse from Caernarfon, decided to use her experience after the birth of son Gruff, now 20 months old, in setting up her new business, Blocs. A dedicated trio from Nightingale House Hospice are preparing to take on a thrilling skydive challenge to raise vital funds for the hospice’s patient services. Mermaid Quay has proudly announced the arrival of the first BinForGreenSeas in Wales, marking a significant step forward in the battle against marine plastic pollution. Two new showhomes have been unveiled at a housing development on the former site of the Llanwern Steelworks in Newport. Bellway Wales opened the doors to the two new properties – a three-bedroom Chandler and a four-bedroom Goldsmith – at Alder Grove, off Queensway, on Saturday 20 July. To celebrate the launch, the housebuilder hired Ballers Pizza to bake and serve fresh pizza to visitors, and also provided ice cream from the Daisy & Belle Ice Cream van. Llandovery Sheep Festival will return this September with fantastic new features for ewe to enjoy. The festival will be a celebration of rural crafts, food and entertainment, held in Llandovery town centre. Report, report, report. That’s the message coming from police in south Wales as they launch their new campaign to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB). For South Wales Police, every report counts and can contribute to community solutions needed to bring positive change. The force wants to help people understand what happens once a report has been made and how the police use the information. A talented young harpist swapped Buckingham Palace for a concert “fit for a king” at a care organisation. Bethan Conway was joined by flautist Charlotte Thomas for a series of performances at Pendine Park in Wrexham.
