From Tuesday, March 19th to Tuesday, March 26th, Inside Out Cymru in collaboration with The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre, have launched a fundraising campaign with The Big Give. During this week-long initiative, donations from the public will be matched pound-for-pound, DOUBLING contributions to support the Creative Wellbeing Hub. Now in its third year, the Creative Wellbeing Hub provides craft and creative writing workshops specifically aimed at those struggling with their wellbeing – be that through loneliness, anxiety, or other diagnoses. The festival takes place from 31st October – 2nd November this year. Bing and Flop from the multi-award-winning animated children’s television series will be coming to WWT Llanelli in a couple of weeks for the launch of ‘Bing’s Nature Explorers’ – a new joint event programme between WWT, the charity for wetlands and wildlife, and independent creative studio Acamar Films. Families can go wild this Easter by exploring a free brick model animal trail at St David’s Cardiff. Organised by FOR Cardiff for the duration of the Easter holidays (Monday, March 25 – Sunday, April 7), the ‘Into the Wild’ BRICKLIVE trail will feature wild animals built out of half a million toy bricks. The trail animals, which took a staggering 2,356 hours to build, represent four different habitats; the wildlands, snow and ice, the ocean, and the jungle. Just when you thought the heroes onboard Wales Air Ambulance couldn’t do anything else to impress you – they’ve gone the extra mile once again (140.6 miles to be precise). Four medics will be taking on Ironman Wales to raise vital funds for the lifesaving charity. The Ironman team will consist of Critical Care Practitioners (CCPs) Caroline Arter, Ruby Thomas, Simon Cartwright and Mike Palmer and they are all hoping to raise £1,500 each. Homelessness charity Emmaus South Wales is seeking sponsorship from local businesses as well as donations of DIY materials as they plan to install an upcycling workshop at their Bridgend community which supports people transitioning out of homelessness. The organisation supports companions (the term used to describe formerly homeless people living in their community and working in their social enterprises). With three Emmaus shops in Bridgend and Porthcawl, the charity sells donated furniture, household items, and clothing. COUNCILLOR Anthony Hunt, Cabinet Chair of Cardiff Capital Region (CCR) and leader of Torfaen Council, has completed a 4-day cycle ride from Paris to the MIPIM property fair in Cannes, to raise money for charitable projects that transform young lives. A £70 million investment will transform the care of hundreds of dialysis patients from Bridgend to Aberystwyth over the next 10 years. Renal services are provided by Swansea Bay for people in its own area as well as those in Hywel Dda and Cwm Taf Morgannwg health boards. Existing services include two haemodialysis units at Morriston Hospital – which receives patients from Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend –and one each in Aberystwyth, Carmarthen and Haverfordwest. However, the number of people requiring haemodialysis is growing year on year, to the point where Morriston is vastly exceeding capacity. This means patients…
