A Cardiff man has been sentenced to 40 months in prison for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, assault, and possession of a bladed article in a public place. Nineteen-year-old David McCauley, from Hiles Road, Ely, was found in possession of a large ‘zombie knife’ (pictured), which has been seized. He pleaded guilty in March this year. A new 3G pitch at Olchfa School is already proving a game changer for pupils and the wider community. Swansea Council and the school’s governors identified a parcel of land that was surplus to requirements and it was sold to help fund the £1.6m investment, with money also coming from the Welsh Government’s Community Focused Schools programme. Caerphilly County Borough Council’s telecare service has launched its new digital alarm receiving centre platform. Caerphilly Careline provides a telecare service to residents in the Caerphilly borough, as well as other local authorities and housing associations in South Wales.  The system includes a base unit installed in the individual’s home which can be activated remotely by a button worn around the neck or on the wrist.  Once the alarm is activated it will connect to an operator who can talk to the caller to find out what support is needed. The former landlord of a Flintshire pub has been jailed after he was found guilty of rape and sexual assault offences. Following his trial at Caernarfon Crown Court, Gareth Lambert, of Moore Lane, Frodsham was today sentenced to 24 years in prison. Lambert will serve an 18-year custodial term, with a further six years to be served on extended supervision. The 31-year-old was found guilty of two counts of rape and one of sexual assault. The offences occurred in January and February 2022, when Lambert ran the Crown and Liver public house in Ewloe. Lambert was arrested following reports from…

A brand new fleet of recycling vehicles, with some creative and comical names, are now serving the residents of Merthyr Tydfil, in a bid to raise recycling awareness within the communities. Hundreds of entries were received by Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, and the chosen sixteen competition winners were invited to the recycling depot in Pentrebach to see their vehicle and collect their well-earned prize, sponsored by Viridor`s Community Fund.
