A BMA Cymru Wales survey of medical students has revealed that 39% plan to leave Wales after graduation to start their medical careers elsewhere with better pay and working conditions cited as the main reasons not to stay. The survey of students at Cardiff, Swansea, and Bangor’s medical schools revealed that 80% of those who intend to leave Wales plan to begin foundation training in England and 15% in Scotland where junior doctors receive higher pay. A consignment of Easter eggs will help struggling families celebrate the holiday weekend along the North Wales coast thanks to a local community group. The Hummingbird Project, has just taken delivery of 100 of the chocolate treats from Denbigh-based storage giant Lock Stock Self Storage and they’ll soon be winging their way out for the Easter weekend. A top eco tourist attraction is gearing up for the new season with a brand new ride and is taking on 100 workers. GreenWood Family Park, in Felinheli, near Bangor, in North Wales, has invested more than £100,000 in importing the giant Forest Glider slide from the Netherlands and installing it just in time for the Easter holidays. Powerleague Cardiff will be one of six hosts to the 2024 Ladbrokes Players Cup five-a-side tournament, offering local teams the chance to win a sum of the record-breaking £100,000 prize pot at stake. A Tesco shopper showed they had a heart of gold when they voted for Cancer Support UK to receive £5,000 to help Swansea’s children. Last Saturday, customers in Swansea were given the chance to take part in a lucky dip to find a specially created gold version of Tesco’s iconic blue voting token. Cancer Support UK was one of three local charities that shoppers could vote for to receive the £5,000 Golden Grant as part of Tesco’s Stronger Starts scheme.
