Penallta Reuse Shop has joined forces with local project Caerphilly Uniform Exchange to offer pre-loved school uniforms to Caerphilly County Borough Council residents free of charge. Penallta Reuse Shop officially opened in October 2022 as a facility aimed as diverting fit-for-use items from Household Recycling Centres and getting them into the hands of those who need them most, at bargain prices. The Aberfan Chinese takeaway in Merthyr Tydfil was found to be operating without running hot water and ordered to close after a routine inspection was prevented by the owner. The Development Bank of Wales has backed investment by leading Welsh events brand Depot into a major Cardiff Bay site, converting the former Doctor Who Museum off Roath Lock into a new food court and leisure space. The Development Bank invested a six-figure investment from the Wales Flexible Investment Fund into the renovation and refit of the site, with Depot also making a major investment into the site’s redevelopment.
