More than two thousand people took to the streets of Rhyl this weekend to call for an independent Wales, as the seaside town hosted the tenth March for Independence – a landmark event in the growing campaign for Welsh independence. South Wales Police are investigating an incident of disorder that took place in Trowbridge, Cardiff, on Saturday, October 18. At around 5pm, a group of three males reportedly approached a male cyclist with weapons near the junction of Aberdaron Road and Trowbridge Road before leaving the area in a white van. South Wales Police can confirm a 38-year-old woman injured in a collision in Caerau, Cardiff, last month has died and a man has been charged with her murder. Emergency services were called to Heol Trelai just before 12.30am on Saturday September 27 to a report that the driver of a car had collided with several pedestrians. A 31-year-old man has today been found guilty of the manslaughter of John Ithell. Paul Ince, of Cefn Road, Abenbury, Wrexham, denied killing the 59-year-old from Wrexham, but a jury last week (Friday 17 October) found him guilty of manslaughter following an eight-day trial at Mold Crown Court. In the early hours of June 12, 2023, Ince punched John to the face in an unprovoked attack outside a block of flats in Pont Wen, Wrexham. Over 1.5 million pay as you go rail journeys have now been made on Transport for Wales (TfW) routes in South Wales. The tap on, tap off technology was launched in November 2024 and has become Transport for Wales’ fastest selling rail product.
