Business confidence in Wales fell five points during July to 27%, according to the latest Business Barometer from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking. Companies in Wales reported higher confidence in their own business prospects month-on-month, up one point at 42%.  When taken alongside their optimism in the economy, down 11 points to 13%, this gives a headline confidence reading of 27%. Walsh businesses identified their top target areas for growth in the next six months as investing in their teams (44%), introducing new technologies (36%) and diversifying into new markets (27%). Construction is set to begin on the development of two new Community Living Schemes that will provide flexible, sustainable, low-carbon accommodation for older residents to help maintain their independence in their own homes for longer. A total of 86 new council apartments, that form part of the Council’s ambitious housing development programme, will be delivered across the two schemes in Butetown and on Leckwith Road. The Welsh Government has teamed up with police forces to help educate motorists ahead of the 20mph default speed limit roll out in September. On Sunday, September 17 Wales will become the first UK nation to introduce a new default 20mph speed limit on restricted roads.
