A new hazardous waste transfer station has been officially unveiled in East Moors Road, Cardiff, as part of an ambitious growth strategy by Welsh environmental services specialist Forward Waste Management. Pupils from two primary schools in Swansea recently took over the council chamber to debate issues that are important to them. Members of the school councils at St Thomas and Danygraig primaries spoke with their local councillors asking if they could have a tour of the Guildhall and use of the chamber. Important repairs to a bridge at Maindy Road in Ton Pentre will start later this month. The work is greatly complicated by utility infrastructure on the bridge, and measures will be in place to reduce local disruption as much as possible. Caerphilly County Borough Council is set to withdraw £120,000 funding for the Rail Linc 901 bus service between Blackwood and Ystrad Mynach Train Station due to falling numbers and budget constraints. A decision was taken as a full Council meeting to withdraw the funding that subsidises this service in light of the significant level of budget savings required for the Council Budget in 2023/24.
