A rogue builder, who destroyed the homes of his customers, as well as taking all their savings, has been sent to prison for more than five years. Lee Slocombe, who ran his Swansea-based building company – Kamlee Builders, appeared in Swansea Crown Court for sentencing after pleading guilty to defrauding seven families out of more than £147,000. A brand new library building for Narberth is due to be handed over to Pembrokeshire County Council by local developers Andrew Rees and Charles Salmon of Narberth Old School Developments by early June, ready for fitting out. The new library is due to open in early 2024 and will be located next to the old Narberth primary school site – now known as The Hwb. Caerphilly County Borough Council successfully secured funding through the Welsh Government Rural Development – Rural Communities 2014:2020 Programme to develop a series of climbing stones to compliment the natural climbing features at the park. A project to build a new primary school in north Powys went over its projected budget by £150,000, Cabinet will be told next week. Welshpool Church in Wales Primary School was opened by Powys County Council in January 2021 as part of its Transforming Education programme. A pilot programme supporting people working in Wales’ screen sector with their mental health is set to benefit from additional £150,000 funding following a successful first phase, the Welsh Government has announced this week.
