A team from Mackenzie Jones Solicitors – which has offices in the city, St Asaph, and Menai Bridge – donated time and materials to overhaul the Reception classroom and playground at Grosvenor Park Academy. A 13-year-old schoolboy from Penarth is taking on an impressive challenge in memory of his much-loved grandfather, fundraising for lifesaving heart research as part of his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh (D of E) Award. Six drug dealers who supplied up to £5,022,000 worth of high quality drugs have been jailed for a combined 87 years after their encrypted drug deal chats were cracked by police. Tarian, the regional organised crime unit for southern Wales, along with Gwent Police welcomed the sentencing of the men at Newport Crown Court yesterday (Tuesday 13 December), following a joint investigation named Operation Arcturus, involving the use of the ‘Encrochat’ secure mobile device platform. Residents of a new council housing development in the north of the city are settling into their super energy-efficient, low carbon new homes in time for Christmas. The council has taken handover of 12 two-bed homes on the new Aspect Place development in Heath – part of the Council’s Cardiff Living scheme with national developer Wates Residential, that is delivering 1,500 new homes in the city.
