Farmers from Montgomeryshire have raised vital funds towards the Bronglais Chemo appeal and recently presented the cheque of £1,270 to Dr Elin Jones, Clinical Lead at the Bronglais Chemotherapy Unit. The Farmers’ Union of Wales Montgomeryshire county executive committee had raised £500 and a raffle at the recent county farming conference raised a further £385. The FUW Group match funded the raffle and added a further £385 in group donations. As tens of thousands of people start seasonal jobs over the next few weeks, they can use the HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) app to save them time to find details they need to pass on to their employer. Bron Afon Community Housing and local firm, WK Plasterers, are building brand new, greener homes in Victoria Street in Old Cwmbran. Former offices and an old toilet block were demolished to make way for the development, which will contain two two-bed flats and 11 one-bed flats for rent.  A key feature of the flats will be a move away from fossil fuels to heat them. Staff and pupils at a Johnstown primary school have signed their names onto structured insulated panels (SIPs) as a significant stage of the new extension is completed and the redevelopment starts to take shape.
