A Carmarthenshire Bowls Club raising funds for a wheelchair for one of its members has secured vital support from a leading Welsh housebuilder. Cross Hands and District Bowls Club has received £1000 from Persimmon Homes West Wales to assist with the purchase for one of the club’s members. The funding means that Paul Bancroft, a member who has played bowls for most of his adult life, can continue to represent the club for many more years to come. A charity day held by Bellway Wales has raised over £3,000 for Cancer Research UK. The housebuilder hosted the event for staff at its divisional office in Cardiff, as well as some of its developments across the region, in support of its nominated national charity. A YEAR later than planned, Katie Peters is preparing to take part in the London Marathon in aid of homelessness charity Llamau.
