SWARCO Smart Charging, a leading provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, has completed the installation of two rapid electric vehicle chargepoints at Machynlleth in Powys, enabling residents and visitors to access charging at the Maengwyn Street car park. Millbrook Primary School pupils and staff will be temporarily relocating while building investigation works are carried out on the Bettws site. Children were due to return to school on Monday 5 September for the start of the autumn term. Reception to year six pupils will now begin the autumn term on Thursday 8 September in the former Brynglas adult training centre (ATC). This will give school staff time to transform the centre into classrooms. Transport will be provided from and to Bettws and hot meals will be delivered to Brynglas each lunchtime. Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Environmental Health team has issued advice to residents, following confirmation of potentially harmful blue-green algae in Pen y Fan Pond. The algae produces toxins which can be harmful to both humans and animals. Residents are advised to ensure pets, particularly dogs, do not enter the water of the Pond – should pets come in contact with the water, owners are advised to thoroughly wash the animal with clean water and seek precautionary advice from a qualified vet.
