Office take-up in Cardiff reached 214,708 sq ft, the highest half year take-up since 2016, and 133.6% above H1 2021, according to international real estate advisor Savills. The most prominent deals this year included the 65,000 sq. ft. letting to BT at 3 Capital Quarter, the largest letting in Q1, and Roku taking 25,845 sq. ft. at One Fusion Point in Q2. A group helping to address the cost-of-living crisis by providing baby essentials to struggling families in Bridgend has received a cash boost from a leading Welsh housebuilder. Splice Child and Family Project has secured a £1,000 donation from Persimmon Homes West Wales. The group provides a baby bank service for families in need, supplying essential items such as baby formula, nappies, wipes, food and toiletries. The gift comes through the Persimmon’s long-running Community Champions campaign. First Minister Mark Drakeford praised a new community and visitor centre and the enthusiasm and commitment of the people behind it during a visit to Newtown on Tuesday. Describing Hafan Yr Afon as a “striking, landmark building”, Mr Drakeford said he was impressed by its riverside, town centre location and the use of quality, sustainable materials in its construction. Studying wellbeing science as part of their courses could be a key way of improving how today’s students cope with the barrage of stressors they face, according to research. Students are a high-risk population for mental ill-health and face increasing academic demands, high levels of loneliness and sustained financial pressures, which can adversely impact on mental health. Now a Swansea University team have taken a closer look at just what impact an optional wellbeing science module offered to undergraduates would have on students’ wellbeing.
