A walk in memory of charity fundraiser Alun Roberts, known to some of his friends as Pinky, has raised £550 for Lingen Davies Cancer Fund. Alun’s daughter Sara and his school friend, Duncan Foulkes, organised the 3.6-mile Pinky’s Walk on May 28 to support the charity that was very close to his heart. Twenty-seven people, some travelling from Shropshire and Aberystwyth, turned out for the circular walk from Gregynog Hall, Tregynon to the nearby hamlet of Bwlchyffridd to raise £242 on the day. Four Aberystwyth University students are being given the opportunity to attend one of the world’s leading film festivals. Sam Aitken, Tom Bow, Molly Clarke and Tayjib Kerstan were successful in a Department of Theatre, Film and Television Studies competition to win a four-day visit to New York’s Tribeca Festival which takes place from 8-19 June 2022. Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking views on proposals that will support the next phase of its ongoing regeneration plans for Porthcawl. Senior representatives from a New Zealand-based company behind proposals to build an outdoor adventure park in Swansea have visited the city to progress their plans. Proposals for Kilvey Hill put forward by Skyline Enterprises include a cable car system, ziplines and luge runs as part of an attraction aiming to open in 2025.
