Business confidence in Wales rose six points during May to 26%, the second consecutive month of growth, according to the latest Business Barometer from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.    Companies in Wales reported higher confidence in their own business prospects month-on-month, up four points at 31%. EMERGENCY workers in Wales are reminding the public to treat them with respect in the face of a continued rise in assaults. The monthly average of emergency worker assaults has increased from 203 in 2019, to 226 in 2020, to 237 in 2021, representing a year-on-year increase of 4.9 per cent. More than 1,440 assaults were committed in the six-month period 01 July 2021 to 31 December 2021, new figures have revealed. Square One is an initiative funded and run by coworking and small business experts, Town Square Spaces Ltd (TownSq), which also operates Cwrt Coworking, where the support will be based. A new church hall building has been handed over to St David’s Priory in Swansea city centre. The new church hall forms part of the £135m Copr Bay phase one district developed by Swansea Council. A project which was originally started to upcycle bikes in Flintshire has grown into a successful community venture which sees members of the public sharing their practical skills and diverting unwanted household items away from landfill. The ‘Second Chance’ (Ail Gyfle) initiative, based at Abbey Upcycling in Flint, is run by learning disability charity Hft with the support of Flintshire County Council, and provides valuable training opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and autism. Homelessness charity Emmaus South Wales has purchased a four-bedroom property in Bridgend to give the people it supports more secure tenancies when the Renting Homes Act comes into force from 15 July 2022.
