The future of Corwen Football Club has been secured for the next 20 years thanks to Rhug Estate providing a long-term commitment of land for a sports field. Corwen Community Football Organisation has a thriving junior section with over 110 boys and girls playing in a variety of teams with an age range of four to 16 years. Welsh fabricator Dudley’s Aluminium is supporting the construction of two innovative school projects. The first of the two builds is a Welsh medium primary school in Rhydyfelin, in the greater Pontypridd area. The new school, which is aiming to be net zero carbon, will house first-class education facilities in a 21st century building. Making writers’ pay fairer and establishing benchmarks for different kinds of author incomes will form part of a new study by Aberystwyth University. Researchers at Aberystwyth Business School are working with Literature Wales in a new nationwide partnership exploring the earnings of writers working in Wales. The touring street food festival will return this month to Roath Yard for four delicious weekends of taste and flavour from around the world.   The team at Street Food Circus have rolled out of Merthyr Mawr forest and pitched up in Cardiff taking over a defunct milk float depot in Roath to create a colourful street food court and night market.  The Roath Yard site has been a regular spot for the event since 2017, and for the month of May, it is running from 13th until the four-day jubilee bank holiday weekend at the start of June. If a picture is worth a thousand words then they are all thank yous when it comes to this painting gifted to the staff of Morriston Hospital. The stunning artwork was created by talented Bishop Vaughan Catholic School sixth former Emily Paradice-Ruan in a bid to thank key workers for the role they played during the heights of the pandemic. Communities across Wales joined in droves for Keep Wales Tidy’s Spring Clean Cymru 2022. Nearly 5,000 bags of litter were collected across the country during the campaign, protecting the environment and showing even small acts on your doorstep make a big difference. Keep Wales Tidy teamed up with every local authority this year. Which saw individuals, households, community groups and businesses join forces, with volunteers asked to pledge to pick up a bag through Keep Wales Tidy’s website.
