The world’s first smart hydrogen hybrid heating system has been demonstrated in Pembrokeshire proving technology that could help the UK get to Net Zero. The trial was part of the UK Research and Innovation-funded Milford Haven: Energy Kingdom project. Swansea Building Society has made a further £15,000 donation to Wales Air Ambulance, bringing the total it has gifted to the charity to £25,000. The Wales Air Ambulance Charitable Trust was Swansea Building Society’s official charity during 2020 and 2021. Despite the challenges brought about by the pandemic, the Society raised a considerable amount for the valuable medical rescue service, helping it achieve its long-held ambition of becoming a 24/7 service across Wales. Customers of a Brecon dry cleaners that ceased trading last summer have until the end of next month to retrieve their items from Powys County Council or they will be handed over to a charity. Barnum’s Dry Cleaners had numerous clothing and other items that had not been collected by customers before it closed its doors for the final time in June 2021. Blue-green algae levels in a north Powys reservoir have subsided below the warning threshold, it has been confirmed. The algae was identified at Llyn Clywedog Reservoir near Llanidloes last November which led to a restriction of activities at the reservoir, especially where immersion in the water was likely. Regular monitoring by Natural Resources Wales has taken place at Llyn Clywedog Reservoir since the algae was identified. The last two consecutive weekly samples taken from the reservoir are below the warning threshold.
