A couple from Penarth has been selected as finalists in the Stronger Together category at this year’s JustGiving Awards after cycling 1,400km to San Sebastian, Spain, in memory of their son. Alex and Selena Matti, who are both 37 and now live in London, raised over £55,000 in memory of their son Otis, who passed away at six months old in May 2025. A Caerphilly man has been jailed for various driving offences following a South Wales Police pursuit. Zackary Williams aged 30 from Risca in Caerphilly pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving without insurance, driving whilst disqualified, driving without a license and assaulting an emergency worker when he first appeared at Cardiff Magistrates Court on Saturday August 2, 2025. A carer has been jailed for assaulting an elderly resident at a Wrexham care home. Michelle Goodwin, 55, of Heol Celyn, Coedpoeth, grabbed an 81-year-old woman by her hair and pushed her into a chair at the Cherry Tree Care Home in Coedpoeth on December 26th, 2023. The victim, who has advanced dementia, developed visible bruising to her head as a result. Goodwin denied a charge of assault causing actual bodily harm, but a jury at Mold Crown Court found her guilty of the offence in July this year. She was sentenced to 13 months in prison at Mold Crown…
