Following the launch of a murder investigation earlier yesterday (August 21), detectives are now appealing for information. Officers were called to South Morgan Place in Riverside at 7.37am yesterday morning to reports of a seriously injured woman. Paramedics also attended, however despite their best efforts, a woman in her 30s was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed. A 37-year-old man, who is known to the victim, was arrested in connection shortly after on Seawall Road. He remains in police custody. The Council’s Cabinet Member for Education has visited the construction site in Clydach Vale where a new 3-19 school for pupils with Additional Learning Needs is being built. The school will open in 2026 with first-class facilities, and will greatly increase the number of ALN school places in the County Borough.
