RCT Council has worked closely with Network Rail to rearrange the removal of the Llanharan Railway Footbridge – and advanced notice is now being given for the work, taking place across two night shifts later this month. The footbridge adjacent to A473 Bridgend Road is in very poor condition, and as part of the replacement process the existing structure was scheduled to be removed on Boxing Day – taking advantage of Network Rail’s line closure over the festive period. Cardiff Council’s assisted home ownership scheme, helping first time buyers in the city get onto the property ladder, has been relaunched as First Homes Cardiff. First Homes Cardiff aims to help first time buyers living or working in the city who find themselves unable to afford their first home, by offering new build properties for sale on a shared equity basis on developments across the city. Machynys Golf Club Ladies Section have aced their fundraising yet again this year by raising over £4,000 for the Urology Department and Breast Care Unit at Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli. The fundraising took place during the Club’s open week in August 2021 which included a daily raffle and an auction. Estyn has launched a survey to ask residents in Torfaen for their views on how well education services provided by the council supports schools and youth services. The survey asks parents, carers, learners, and anyone working or involved in education to help inspectors judge the effectiveness of the education services. Post Office Ltd is providing a Mobile Post Office service to Resolven from today. The Mobile service will be located at Lyons Place Car Park, Resolven, Neath, West Glamorgan, SA11 4ND. This Mobile service is scheduled to commence from Tuesday 11 January. It will operate every Tuesday from 2.30- 4.30pm. This is a temporary solution whilst we continue to look for a permanent solution.
