An investigation has been launched by South Wales Police following an incident which took place on Aberdulais Crescent, Gabalfa at approximately 4am yesterday (Wednesday, May 27). A 53-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. The victim – a 47-year-old woman – is currently at the University Hospital of Wales where she is receiving treatment for serious facial injuries. Both are understood to be known to each other. Traffic lights have been introduced on the Menai Bridge as Welsh Government steps up efforts to prevent overweight vehicles from crossing during one of the busiest periods of the year. The changes came into effect on Wednesday evening (27 May) and will remain in place for the duration of the Urdd Eisteddfod.
