A former student at Monmouth School for Boys will be coxing the University of Oxford in this year’s Boat Race on the River Thames. With job vacancies in the UK reaching a record high, new research from Grant Thornton UK LLP finds that the ‘great resignation’ is severely impacting the mid-market. Wales’ biggest independent recruitment firm Yolk Recruitment has planted 1100 new oak trees in Blaen Bran Community Woodland, Cwmbran, south Wales, as part of its commitment to achieving carbon neutral status. Cardiff Metropolitan University has today appointed the Executive Director of the Council for At-Risk Academics (Cara), Stephen Wordsworth CMG LVO, as the University’s new Chancellor. Principality Building Society has donated £100,000 to welcome its two-year charity partnerships with Tŷ Hafan and Hope House Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospices. Colleagues at the largest building society in Wales voted overwhelmingly to support the two charities, who provide paediatric palliative care for hundreds of children across Wales and the borders each year. A 53-year-old man from Barry has today pleaded guilty to the murder of Robert Farley, who was found dead in his home in Barry on September 3rd 2021. At 0.38am on Friday September 3rd, 2021, South Wales Police responded to a 999 call in which it was reported that a man was threatening to shoot people. At 0.40am, officers attended The Knapp in Barry and found Lee Whitlock, who matched the description provided.
