Cardiff Council and south Wales social enterprise Wastesavers Charitable Trust will officially open their reuse store (The Cabin) at the Lamby Way Recycling centre on Wednesday 13 October. The store gives residents a chance to donate unwanted household items to the on-site charity shop rather than dump them in recycling skips. Schoolchildren in Pembroke Dock are celebrating after winning a prestigious Credit Unions of Wales award. Pupils at Pembroke Dock Community School received the School Partnership Award after running a successful junior savings scheme which not only teaches children the importance of financial wellbeing, but also develops their literacy and numeracy skills.
