A larger number of the 8000 objects detailing Flintshire and regional history held within the county can now go on display, thanks to the creation of a new exhibition space at a Holywell-based heritage centre. Originally comprising of two rooms, the floorplan of the new space at the museum within Greenfield Valley Heritage Park has been completely renovated into one larger, single space. The University Hospital of Wales will shine bright throughout Cardiff this Christmas bringing light and joy to patients, staff, visitors and the local community. The Shine Bright Appeal organised by Cardiff & Vale Health Charity hopes to raise £30,000 with local companies, schools and individuals sponsoring their own personalised light up star which will be fixed to the outer walls at the hospital. Following the temporary removal of Court Road footbridge on the 28th August 2021 for maintenance, the council identified additional non-structural defects that required repair. The proposed bridge reinstatement date is now Saturday the 23rd October 2021 dependant on the weather. Please note the bridge reinstatement will be as per the bridge lift byway of an overnight closure of the A469 / A468 between the Trecenydd and Pwl y Pant roundabouts from approximately 8pm until 8am Sunday morning dependant on the weather.
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council Cabinet has agreed additional funding of £1.5m to support the maintenance of the road network – including 48 new resurfacing schemes, over and above the funding already earmarked in the Highways Capital Programme. At the Cabinet meeting on Monday, October 4, Members considered a report which detailed the proposed new schemes, as part of further ‘one-off’ funding being brought forward for Council priority areas.
