A project that will help support the early detection of potential cancer has been launched by a group of GP practices. The City Health Cluster, which covers eight GP practices in the central areas of Swansea, has been proactively contacting patients who haven’t attended cancer screenings to discuss their concerns and encourage them to come forward. Screening is a process which checks for signs of cancer in people who don’t have any symptoms. Patients can then be offered further tests and appropriate treatment if it is necessary. A North Wales HR company has been praised for its efforts to be an eco-conscious business. HR Anchor has had its carbon footprint assessed and found it is almost half that of the average office-based business. The number of business start-ups in Wales rose by 50.5% between December 2021 and February 2022, according to new research from insolvency and restructuring trade body R3. Despite the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing global economic pressures, the data, which is based on an analysis of data provided by CreditSafe, reveals 1,832 new businesses were registered in Wales last month – an increase of 14.6% from January’s figures (1,599), and of 50.5% on December’s figure of 1,217. A team of 28 amateur cyclists have set off from Cardiff Castle on a gruelling 600km bike ride to Edinburgh Castle. More than 150 spectators gathered to send off the C2Cycling team who are pedalling from castle to castle over the next five days to raise vital funds for Velindre Cancer Centre and LATCH Welsh children’s cancer charity. The ride sees the team call at Ludlow, Warrington, Kendal and Lockerbie before the final 109 km stretch into Edinburgh. A group of kind-hearted cub scouts brought joy to care home residents when they paid a surprise visit to deliver handmade Easter cards to them. The youngsters representing the 1st Penycae troop, stopped off at Pendine Park care organisation in  Wrexham, before going on to attend their regular weekly meeting. They were joined by local youth celebrity Lilly-Anne Sullivan Gibson, 17, of Rhos, who is the current Miss Teen Powys.
