A new £48m package of funding to support social care in Wales has today (Tuesday September 14) been announced by Deputy Minister for Social Services Julie Morgan. The majority of the funding – £40m – has been allocated to local authorities and will be used to help the social care sector meet the ongoing challenges caused by the pandemic. The headline NatWest Wales Business Activity Index – a seasonally adjusted index that measures the month-on-month change in the combined output of the region’s manufacturing and service sectors – registered 58.0 in August, down from 61.4 in July, to signal a marked expansion in business activity across the Welsh private sector, albeit the slowest for five months.
